EX600-SEC1 Series Air Cylinder
EX600-SEC1 is the core SI unit (fieldbus interface unit) in the
EX600 series fieldbus valve island module launched by SMC
Corporation in Japan. It is designed specifically for the
industrial automation field to achieve efficient integration of
solenoid valve control and multi protocol fieldbus communication.

Technical parameters and communication capabilities
Bus protocol support: Compatible with various industrial bus
standards such as EtherCAT, PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP,
PROFINET, etc., supports real-time Ethernet communication (such as
EtherCAT), and can extend MRP, Ethernet POWERLINK, Modbus TCP and
other protocols through customized specifications.
Communication configuration: Adopting automatic address allocation
technology, there is no need to manually set the slave station
address. It can be quickly integrated with the master station (such
as Beckhoff TwinCAT, Siemens S7 series PLC) through XML
configuration files (downloaded from SMC official website).
Scalability: A single SI unit can connect up to 32 point
containerized solenoid valves, supporting flexible combinations of
digital I/O and analog I/O units, with a maximum of 10 connected
units (including SI units), suitable for complex control scenarios.
Functional and performance advantages
Modular design: Adopting a modular board structure, it supports
direct installation or reinforced installation through the
EX600-ZMB1 intermediate bracket to ensure the stability of multi
unit connections.
Diagnostic function: Built in configuration consistency check,
generating diagnostic errors when the storage configuration does
not match the actual valve island configuration, improving system
reliability.
Power requirements: UL1310 Class2 power supply (compliant with UL
standards) must be used, with an output rating of DC universal type
to ensure electrical safety.

Interface design: Equipped with an end board (EX600-ZMV) for power
access, the solenoid valve manifold realizes electrical centralized
connection, reducing wiring complexity.
Protection and Cleaning: Regular maintenance is required to avoid
the use of solvents (such as benzene, thinner). It is recommended
to wipe the surface with a soft cloth dipped in neutral detergent
to ensure long-term stable operation.
