The Allen-Bradley 1734-IE4C module is a POINT I/O 4-channel high-density current input module. It is an analog module that can sustain channel-level diagnostics (electronic bits and LED indicators). It also features Delta-Sigma conversion of analog data to signed integer format, channel-level data alarming (4 set-points per channel); and scaling to different engineering units. This adapter supports the rack-optimized connections between CompactLogix controllers or ControlLogix and discrete I/O modules in the same chassis. via the backplane, it can also create direct connections between the internet-capable connection originator and input/output modules.

To ensure proper grounding, use DIN rails that are zinc-plated yellow-chromate steel. Secure the DIN rail to the mounting surface approximately every 7.8 inches or 200 millimeters and use the end-anchors correctly. The installation of the 1734-IE4C module can be done before or after the base is secured. The insertion or removal of the module should be done while backplane power is switched off to avoid the occurrence of electrical arcs.
